NOTICE! This event is SATURDAY October 21st at 5 pm!
Get on your Hollywood glam!
We’re rolling out the red carpet again for our Acatemy Awards on October 21st! This year our event features Clawed, a cat cocktail competition, Cat Hero Awards for individuals and businesses, and of course our fabulous live auctions.
Clawed is a live Chopped-style competition. Six local mixologists will compete through three rounds with mystery box ingredients, but only one will claw their way to the top! Three local purrsonalities will be judging: Claire with the Downtown Partnership, Griffin with the CS Independent and Stephen with the Warehouse.
You’ll be able to purchase a flight of all the 1st round drinks to help choose a People’s Choice winner. Also, the winning drink will be available throughout the evening for purchase!
Meet our fabulous mixologists!
(See our Facebook Events page for more on each one)
Mark Soto is from Axe and the Oak. He likes being a bartender because of the one-on-one he gets with his guests, loves cats for their chill and independence, and plays the blues harmonica.<
Ashlee Choi is from 503W. She likes bartending as a way to express her creativity, loves the loyalty and personality of cats and the fact that no two are alike. She grew up in the industry and loves all things artistic.
Ken Binning is from Bar-K. Bartending is a good fit for him because he’s a late night guy. He had two sweet and loving torties who used to hike with him and his dogs.
Carlos Garcia is from Brooklyn’s on Boulder. He likes creating a whole experience for his guests, likes cats who know how to be there when you are not, and once had his own tequila company.
Jason Sweeney is from the Principal’s Office. He likes to help his guests learn about spirits and cocktails, likes the strong individual personalities of cats, and made his mom happy when he gave up driving a taxi for tending bar.
Pearlies, our handcrafted Acatemy catuettes, will be awarded this year for heroes to the Cat Community, local small and large businesses and an individual, each nominated for going above and beyond in making life better for cats in the Pikes Peak Region.
Last, but definitely not least, we will have a live auction with some amazing items for your bidding pleasure. Check back for details on our goodies to come!
Tickets are $20 and include heavy appetizers, a free drink ticket, and of course your very own set of handcrafted cat ears!
