Blue came to Happy Cats Haven when he was found abandoned outside during a cold and snowy winter. One of the Happy Cats staff started feeding him for caring for him, searching for an owner with no luck.
Blue was brought into Happy Cats and given his first vaccines before going into foster care. Late one night, his foster mom was walking inside and Blue darted out the door! Frantically, his foster mom and the Happy Cats staff put up flyers, afraid that Blue would never find his way back and find a forever family.
A few days later, a Happy Cats Haven volunteer got a phone call, she found a cat matching Blue’s description and wanted to bring him in, she had no clue that Blue was the same lost cat from foster care. The Happy Cats team drove to her place and at first glance, they knew it was him. One scan with the microchip reader confirmed it, Blue was found 4 miles away from his foster home!
Finally, Blue could be brought into the shelter. But would he find a family willing to work with his door-darting antics? The Happy Cats team worked with Blue to get him harness-trained so he could go on walks, and they got him a GPS tracker on his collar in case he got lost again.
Blue got along well with the other cats in the colony, but he craved affection and attention. Finally, a couple came in and fell in love with him. They asked specifically for a cat that was harness trained, so they could take him on walks. It was a match made in kitty heaven. His new family has been in contact with Happy Cats, and even sent us photos of Blue around the Christmas tree, showered in presents from Santa. His family says, “We are loving Blue and he sure loves us. Most the time he is curled up on one of us and purring!”
Thanks to the wonderful people who have helped Blue a long, long way to find his happy ever after! Blue thanks you!
