Around December 1st, someone heard a cat crying in a basketball court. They assumed she couldn’t find her way out, so they put her outside and went on their way. The next day, she was still there so they took her home.
They soon found out why she was stuck in the court: she was blind, and possibly also deaf. Soon the call came to Barb, our TNR Coordinator. Barb named her Helena and put her safely into foster care. She not only had a microchip, but also an ear tattoo, but had been registered in France.
After we put her on the Facebook Colorado Springs Lost Pet Alert, a man named Steve contacted Barb. Typhaine was her real name and she was 17, having been in the US since his grandmother died in France in 2009. Typhaine had wandered out and Steve had been checking for Found Cats, but didn’t know he could put up a Lost Cat alert.
Typhaine is one of 17 cats we have reunited with their guardians this year. Thanks to the Good Samaritans in her neighborhood, this sweet girl is safe and warm tonight with her family!
